oNobuhle

It was very graphic yet a lot of fun to create. There’s even a photo of me hold my container of fake blood (looking a little pale at the sight of the ‘guts’ might I just add)

\\Caution, graphic photos ahead//

How to create fake guts:

I mixed cornflour with boiling water on a stove and stirred it until the mixture got thick. I added red, blue and yellow/green food coloring to create a shade which resembled blood. This took a lot of trial and error to create the right color. I then placed it in an ice cream container to set and placed it in the fridge. The next day I took it out and it had set to an almost jelly substance. I took it with me to set and mixed it with ox intestines and sheep bladders to create a very realistic looking container of guts. Afterward, I made sure to cover the actresses in the fake blood which they could eat. (This is made up of syrup, cocoa powder and food coloring)

Please take a look at all the photos I took from being on set for oNobuhle. It was very graphic yet a lot of fun to create. There’s even a photo of me hold my container of fake blood (looking a little pale at the sight of the ‘guts’ might I just add)

The Stranger Within

The first film came and went super quickly.

The first film came and went super quickly. We shot over time which meant that we ended up getting a lot less sleep than I would have liked but nevertheless it was such fun filming! Below you’ll find some pictures from the shoot.

CMS Assignment

The key aspect of this assignment is that she needs to be wearing a skirt which is destroyed in some way.

I don’t know how many of you remember my previous CMS Assignment in which it was CSI themed. This term we had to create a story about a girl who arrives somewhere and then hits a dilemma where a choice has to be made which affects her entire life. The key aspect of this assignment is that she needs to be wearing a skirt which is destroyed in some way.

My story is about a girl named Maisie who arrives at a bus stop and wait for her ride which is late. She receives a phone call notifying her that car is going to be late and that she must wait for it. She can’t get another lift as it is late and the are no more taxis available to her.

stage 1e
Maisie receiving a phone call notifying her that her car is late.
stage 1d
Maisie being bored, going on her phone.

In stage two, a car pulls up and she walks towards it thinking it’s her lift. She discovers it is not when a man pulls her in the car and attacks her, trying to rape her. She struggles and she is stabbed multiple times in the legs. He finishes and begins placing her in the backseat so as to take her home. This is when she makes her escape and she runs for her life.

Finally, in stage 3 we see that Maisie has grown from her experiences and is now a motivational speaker and uses her funds to help women in need and those affected by rape. She created a campaign to help tackle rape and help women in need.

All in all, I had a great time putting together my story and dressing myself up as the character.

Please note that this story is entirely made up and any similarities to any person or scenario are purely coincidental.

CMS Practice

We then pulled out the makeup kits to test our knowledge.

Earlier this term we learned about eye shapes and how to do makeup to compliment the eye. We then pulled out the makeup kits to test our knowledge. Here’s what I managed to do. Keeping in mind that this is makeup for film, definitely not for everyday makeup looks 🙂
